neutrophil

Neutrophils (English: neutrophils, neutrophilic polymorphonuclear leukocyte, PMN) is part of a group of white blood cells granulocytes.

Together with two other granulocytes cells: eosinophils and basophils that have granules in the cytoplasm, also called polymorphonuclear cells because of their odd nuclei. Neutrophil granule bluish red with 3 cell nucleus.

Neutrophils are associated with defenses against bacterial infections and inflammatory processes of other small, as well as being the first cell that is present when an infection somewhere. With properties similar to makrofaga phagocytic, neutrophil respiratory attack invading pathogens by using a variety of toxic substances that contain strong oxidising agents, including hydrogen peroxide, oxygen free radicals, and hypochlorite.

The ratio of white blood cells from neutrophils generally reaches 50-60%. Normal adult bone marrow to produce at least 100 billion neutrophils per day, and increased to ten times that of acute inflammation also occurs.

Blood spots showed neutrophil granulocytes, where the three lobes nucleus can be seen.

Once separated from the bone marrow, neutrophils will experience six morphological stages: mielocit, metamielocit, non-segment neutrophils (bands), neutrophil segments. [1] Neutrophils segment is the active cell to full capacity, which contain cytoplasmic granules (or azurofil primary, secondary, or specific) and the cell nucleus chromatin-rich hollow.
